Area Description

ELS Tampa is located on the campus of the University of Tampa. The campus is in the middle of the city of Tampa. It is walking distance to all that the city has to offer such as restaurants, hotels, banks, the Tampa Bay Aquarium, the Port of Tampa, historical Ybor City and more. The beaches are within half an hour's drive, and Busch Gardens is just a 15-minute drive from downtown. Tampa celebrates many festivals such as Gasparilla, the Tampa State Fair and the Strawberry Festival. The city is home to national sports teams such as the Buccaneers, Tampa Bay Lightning and the Tampa Bay Rays. The University of Tampa itself has much to offer. It is an historic campus complete with its own museum, large outdoor lap pool and over 26 dining facilities. It also provides a great education to international students from 126 countries.
