Area Description
ELS St. Petersburg is located on the beautiful waterfront campus of Eckerd College, only five minutes from the famous Gulf of Mexico. St. Petersburg, situated on Florida's tropical west coast, is well known for its beaches, mild climate, and educational and cultural attractions. Many students enjoy taking trips to Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Disney, EPCOT, Sea World, Busch Gardens, Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios Florida. Cultural attractions include the world famous Salvador Dali Museum, Chihuly Glass Exhibition and the Museum of Science and Industry. Outdoor sports are popular including, golf, tennis, fishing, swimming, boating, and hiking.

Local Transportation
Most students share taxis to go shopping or to the beach. There is a public bus stop on campus which students can transfer from to go downtown or shopping. To reach the Orlando and other Florida attractions students usually participate in ELS sponsored excursions.
